In October 2013 I received an email from Ombetja Yehinga Organisation (OYO), Namibia’s first professional dance company who tackle social issues and use dance as a way to communicate with local communities on these issues because even though English is the national language not everyone speaks it or understands it very well, saying that they had been asked to represent Namibian Youth at Yfest which was happening in July 2014 ahead of the Commonwealth Games as a way to Get Scotland Dancing. As part of this they were inviting 6 people to then join them for the month of August on an internship. I applied and was given one of the 6 international places. I enjoyed it so much that I will be returning again next year. To do this again I have to fundraise a minimum of £500 to raise awareness of the company and to help with various costs of the internship.

Please visit our listings page for all the details about Charlottes's upcoming event and for more information on her internship last year please visit: https://charlottedanceblog.wordpress.com/
