Orpheus Descending is a play written by Tennessee Williams, set in the Deep South of America in the middle of the twentieth century. It is based on the classical myth of Orpheus’s journey to the Underworld and draws on the writer’s experience and life as a wandering artist. Performed by 3rd Year Acting students and directed by visiting professional, Hannah Drake. The show’s costume design, props and technical support was delivered by Theatre Production students. Burdalls Yard hosted all four sell out performances, providing a unique theatrical backdrop for this intimate and claustrophobic play.
